Registration Deadline Date: July 15, 2007 - Must be postmarked no later than July 15, 2007 Registrations received after July 15 will be assessed a $25.00 late fee. All Participation fees are Non-refundable Check In: July 26, 2007, 10:00 AM - 03:00 PM: Four Points Hotel Four Points by Sheraton Chicago O'Hare Equipment Standard Taekwondo uniform in good condition, white V-neck (Black stripe around the collar only for Black Belts), shin and instep-protector, forearm protector (white only, elastic cushion-like stocking), protective groin cup, chest protector, headgear and mouthpiece is manditory for gyoroogi competition. Gumdo competitors need official Koryo Gumdo uniform Hae Dong Gum-do Uniform and wooden swords for Gumbup, Arm protector, Headgear for Gumdo Sparring and Foam Sword (Tournament Committee Approved) are mandatory. Special Bamboo sword fighting competitors will need protector gear. Hapkido uniforms must be white or black only, Nunchaku and Bo Staff Competitor uniform will be their choice Admission: Adults: Each day $10.00 Children: Each day $ 5.00 Under 3 years: Free No Video or Cameras will be allowed at Ringside Eligibility: All Competitors must be students of an established school or club. Competition The current United States National Taekwondo Federation "Rules and Rules And Regulations" will govern these Championships. Regulations: Poomse: Poomse are: Palgwe and Taegeuk, Il Jang through Pal Jang for Color Belts, Koryo through Ilyo for Black belts. ITF Hyung are Chunji through Tong Il. The Poomse and Hyung Championships will be divided into WTF, ITF, Master, Senior, Adult, Junior, PeeWee, Mini Pee Wee, and rank in each division. Female and Male compete separately Creative Poomse: For Black Belts Adults only - Performance Must not exceed one minute and must exhibit a minimum of 4 kicks. Breaking Age 4-8: 12”x 6”x 3/8” boards only. Flying sidekick or jumping high front kick Age 9-12: 12”x 8”x 1” boards only. Flying sidekick or jumping front high Kick Age 13-Adult: 12”x 10”x 1” boards only. Side kick, back kick, round house, and reverse round house. Any jumping reverse side, back or round-house kicks will be judged as superior. Plus the quantity of boards broken with each technique at one location. Bring your own boards or purchase at the registration area. Gyoroogi: PeeWee through Junior division will consist of two (1 ½ minute) rounds. All Adult color belts and senior divisions for Gyoroogi will consist of two (1 ½ minute) rounds. Black belt division will consist of two (2 minute) rounds. Black belt finals will consist of three (2 minute) rounds Hapkido Performance with your partner will be limited to one minute Nunchaku and Bo Staff: Performance will be Limited to one minute If the number of competitors for each division is less than four, the tournament Committee has the option of combining two or three age groups of Color belts and Black belts into a single group and assigning the division of Advance, Intermediate, and Beginner. In each combined group that there are too few participants in a division, each event will have only two weight divisions, Light and Heavy. All Gyoroogi divisions will separate male and female competitors. Nunchaku and Bo Staff: Performance will be Limited to one minute If the number of competitors for each division is less than four, the tournament Committee has the option of combining two or three age groups of Color belts and Black belts into a single group and assigning the division of Advance, Intermediate, and Beginner. All Gyoroogi divisions will separate male and female competitors. Rules concerning kicks to face shall be as follows: 1. Competitors who execute successful techniques with light contact and no injury shall be awarded a point. (This includes head area.) 2. A competitor who executes a kick to the head area which results in a minor injury (Bruising or or Abrasion) shall receive a one-point deduction 3. Any competitor who executes a kick to the head area which results in bleeding, or the inability of the opponent to continue due to injury shall be disqualified. The jury, the referee and judges, after consultation with the tournament physician, shall make this determination and cannot be overruled. Award: Each division will consist of 4 Competitors and Medals will be awarded to the first, second, and two third place participants. All competitors will receive a Certificate of participation and Championship T-shirt. All junior Black Belt 1st place winners in the poomse and gyroogi divisions will compete again for the Official Junior division champion title. The Junior division champion will receive special award also adult Black Belt (Gyroogi), Master (Poomse) division champion will special award, we will have poome grand champion very special award Gumdo Rules: Gumbup (Forms)-Koryo, Haidong, or any officially recognized form. Koryo Gumdo Forms will be separate of other forms. Gumdo Sparring-two (1 and 1/2 minute) rounds. Special Award: Top 10 schools with the highest number of competitors will receive a Special Award.
